You Can Make A Difference

We believe in a community where justice is accessible, prevention is possible, families are resilient, and children can heal. Our services are only as good as the people on our team who meet the child victim and their families where they are and provide them with the support and resources to begin their healing journey.

Volunteers provide the critical resource of time and skills that allow the CAC to offer services from a foundation of strength and stability.

Volunteer Commitment

As a non-profit organization, the Child Advocacy Center relies on committed volunteers to help support the work we do.

Before contacting us, please review the following to see if we might be a match for your availability and interests:

  1. With the exception of special events, The CAC typically operates during normal weekday business hours (8:00 to 5:00, Monday-Friday).

  2. All volunteers must pass a background check before volunteering in our centers.

If you are interested in volunteering with the CAC, we ask that you can commit a consistent number of hours over an agreed-upon period of time.

If you are looking for a one-off or shorter time commitment, consider volunteering at a Delta Regional Child Advocacy Center community event. Please contact Sarah at 906-789-5186 or ssorensen@deltaregionalcac.org .

Please review the volunteer positions below to see if we’re a good fit for your availability and interests. If you are interested in volunteering, please complete the CAC Volunteer Application below.

Volunteer Positions

Onboarding and training are provided for all volunteer positions. All volunteers must pass a comprehensive background check screening.

youth Advocate:

This position places volunteers in direct contact with the children, teens, and families served at the CAC. During a scheduled appointment at the CAC, child engagement assistants help CAC child and family advocates maintain a safe and supportive environment. Youth Advocates help keep children and teens engaged and occupied during the waiting periods of their time at the CAC. This can include playing games, supervision, and other activities that allow the caregiver and CAC advocate to meet away from the child.

Commitment: Shifts are scheduled for half days. Volunteers who can make a weekly commitment are given priority in shift selection.

Fundraising:

There is no single source of funding for CACs, and we receive an average of 50% of our funding from private donors. In order to sustain the Delta Regional CAC, it is imperative that we receive financial support from individuals, organizations, and hold fundraising events.  We are seeking fundraising volunteers who can assist with any of the following: planning and executing fundraisers in the community, think of creative ways to engage donors/corporations, assist with running fundraising campaigns, or develop creative ways of engaging individual donors.
